Menopause Travel Tips
If you are menopausal, traveling can pose challenges. Here are some tips to enhance your comfort.
- Bring an empty zip lock bag. Before bed put ice in the zip lock bag and place it under your pillow. If you get warm, or have a hot flash or night sweat, flip the pillow to the cool side.
- Carry sunscreen for your face and exposed skin even if you are not going to the beach. If you are taking hormones (birth control pills or menopausal estrogen treatment) you are more likely to get skin discoloration without sun protection.
- Wear layers that breathe so you can peel off an outer layer if you get warm, then replace it when you are cool.
- If you are wearing shoes, boots, or sneakers, with or without socks, bring foot powder: baby powder, cornstarch or antifungal powder all work well to keep your feet from sweating.
- Bring a hat to block the sun and keep you cooler.
- Enjoy your trip!!!l
